CITY MEET INFO!
It is CITY MEET Set-up day!
Please read this email. Due to the size of the meet (It is big! 910 swimmers), there are some schedule changes.
HEAT SHEETS and SCHEDULES can be found HERE.
RELAYS
Relay names are printed in the Heat Sheet, but we may make adjustments to the relays durning them meet based on performances happening during individual competition. This is a championship meet and we will do everything possible to put up our fastest relays.
WE NEED HELP!
As I said earlier, this meet is big. We need every family to pitch in and help. Eighty-three positions need to be filled, and we only have 32 team members signed up to help. Please don't wait until you get to the pool tomorrow and ask what I need. Sign-up now. If your child is swimming, you must work at least one session. Some of our family members are working all six sessions.
Our biggest need is the bullpen for the ten and under sessions and the finals sessions. We have experienced people running it, but they need backup. The bullpen is critical to keeping the meet running on time. Please help us!
Thursday, July 7 - Pool set-up at 5:00 PM at the FTO Pool. We will practice there from 5:45-6:45ish.
Anyone who has been to City Meet will tell you to be prepared for hot and muggy weather and at least one good rain storm. Plan on delays due to weather. We WILL finish the meet. Bring shade, chairs, snacks, and drinks.
Remember! City Meet is a Prelim/Final Meet. If your swimmer finishes in the top 16 overall in their event, they get to come back at night and race in finals! If your swimmer's relay finishes in the top 8 overall, their relay gets to race in finals! There are a few timed final events. A timed final means they only swim the race in prelims. They score based on how they place in prelims. The timed final events are the six and Under 25 free and 25 back. The eight and under 50 free and 100 IM are timed finals. All 100 freestyles are timed finals.
Swim Caps
All swimmers must wear Dalton Dolphins caps. No Dolphins cap, no warm-up. No Dolphins cap, no race.
Swimsuits
CASL rules do not allow tie-back swimsuits. They also do not allow suits endorsing non-CASL teams. Therefore, 12 and unders may not wear tech suits. If you don't know what a tech suit is, you don't have one. 13 and overs should not wear tech suits in prelims (except for the 100 free). However, 13 and overs should "suit up" for finals if they have a tech suit.

Volunteers Descriptions
Awards: We still need four people during the Saturday Finals session.
It's in an air-conditioned room. Put a label on a ribbon or medal and put that award in the corresponding team's box. This position is during the Finals session on both days. Saturday night is essential because we need to have the awards packaged and ready for coaches to pick up at the end of the meet.
Bullpen: We still need six people for ten and under preliminary sessions. We also need five people for both Finals sessions.
This is a crucial position. We need experienced and new volunteers to help with the bullpen. All ten and under swimmers report to the bullpen. Volunteers organize them by seating them in order according to Event, Heat, and Lane. We then march them to the pool for their event. We need a lot of help in this position. There is also a bullpen for all age groups for finals.
Bullpen and Lane Timer Sheets: We need 2-4 people to help organize the bullpen and lane timer sheets while we are setting up the pool Thursday night.
Clerk of Course: We only need one more person to help with the Friday ten and under preliminary session. You get to sit in the shade for this position. You sit at a desk and watch people declare if they WILL NOT swim in finals. It's about as easy as it gets.
Hospitality: We still need one person for both ten and under preliminary sessions and the Friday 11 and over preliminary session. We need two people for the Saturday eleven on over preliminary session and both finals sessions. Another air-conditioned job. Ensure the drinks are cold and food is out for the coaches and officials. AM workers must be there early to ensure coaches and officials have their coffee!
Runners: We need one person for the Saturday ten and under preliminary session. We need two people for the Saturday finals session. Pick up DQ slips from the officials and timer sheets from the timers. Deliver them to the timing table. Pick up results from the timing table. Deliver them to the announcer, clerk of course, and post them for spectators.
Timers: We have all of the timers we need!!!
Donations for the Hospitality Room
Every family must bring the following to FTO Pool Thursday night during set-up.
Summer League only swimmers: 1 case of water and one package of bottled Gatorade or Powerade
Bronze & Silver Groups: 1 case of water and 1 case of coke
Gold & Bullets Groups: 1 case of water and 1 case of sprite
Senior Groups: 1 case of water and 1 case of diet coke
We also need some medium and large-sized coolers to keep drinks cold. Please let Jason know if you are willing to let us borrow one.
Donations to the Chattanooga Food Bank
The CASL Officers and Carpet Capital Aquatics have agreed to add a philanthropic element to City Meet this year and host a Food Drive to support the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. To make it fun, it will be arranged as a competition where each CASL team can collect food and monetary donations separately to determine the winner and claim bragging rights. Catoosa swimmer Julia Stryker is a regular volunteer at the Food Bank and cooked this up. The good news is she's doing the leg work, and the Food Bank provides a lot of support, so all we have to do as a team is donate and see who wins! The items needed the most are Peanut Butter (it's like gold!), canned fruit, canned mixed vegetables, and cans of soup. You can make a monetary donation HERE.
