    Dalton Dolphins Update 6/7/23

That first meet was a doozy! Thanks to everyone for waiting out the storm and then getting stuck in traffic! Not to mention the long night of swimming.

Please let us know if your swimmer will or will not be participating in the meet on Monday, June 12 by tomorrow night at 11:30 PM!

We swim at Stuart Heights tomorrow night. Directions to the pool can be found HERE. Warm-ups will begin at 5:00 PM. Competition will begin at 5:30 PM.

We still need four place judges and a recorder for tomorrow night. Place judging is easy, and you have the best seat in the house. All you do is watch the finish of each race and let the recorder know what lane got the place you are judging. There are several other place judges to back you up if you make a mistake. Both teams are also required to have a recorder. Since we are the away team, you don't need to do much except back up the home team's recorder. The recorder writes the place for each lane as the place judges tell them. A runner will pick up the sheet and take it to the scorer's table. I also need someone to sell the previous year's T-shirts and extra caps.

Stuart Heights is a unique pool, to say the least. It doesn't get much shade at all. It can get pretty toasty at Stuart Heights. Luckily, the weather looks good for tomorrow. There are some tents on our side of the pool, but it would be good if you brought one of your own. There isn't a lot of space on the pool deck for extra tents, but there is space for some. There does need to be a walkway for people, so please don't try to put the tents up to the pool.

There is little parking directly by the pool. I recommend parking in the church parking lot up the hill from the pool.

Some things you may want to bring:

    Towels (yes- multiple!)

    Chairs

SH will have concessions for snacks and drinks, but you can bring your own. (watermelon, apples & PB, graham crackers, grapes, chewy bars- to name some goodies)

Extra goggles (these can break at the worst moments- like right before a race)

    Extra cap

Swimsuit (seems like a no-brainer, but you would be surprised!)

Games (cards, Uno, Go Fish, Gameboy)

    Sharpie (for arm markings)

Many of you have downloaded the Swimtopia App. If you still need to do so, go to your app store and get it.

One other thing everyone should do right away is to activate your account to receive text messages. We will not spam you. We only send essential and time-sensitive information through the mass messaging system. I've been sending out multiple individual texts this week, but that doesn't work well in the case of inclement weather or a last-minute update about practice or swim meet. I'll send a verification by text. Please accept it.

We will have T-shirts from the last couple of years available for sale at a steep discount. Every swimmer gets one latex swim cap per season, but if you want extra, you can also purchase those. We also have silicone caps for sale. I would love to sell out of our caps this season so that we could try a new cap design for next year.

    Previous year's T-shirts - $5

    Extra Latex Cap - $5

    Silicone Cap -$15
