City Meet
We will set up our crash area and the pool area on Thursday, July 9th, beginning at 4:00 PM. You can bring a tent to set up in our crash area. The crash area map is below. Setting the pool up doesn't take too long if we have enough help. FTO will put in the blocks and lane ropes. We have to assemble and place 10 - 10x20 tents, 30 tables, about 200 chairs, and the hospitality area. The kids will be able to practice for about an hour. We plan to start practice at about 5:30 if the setup is going well.
Heat Sheets are attached. They are also posted on the CCAC and Dalton Dolphin websites.
Crash Area Map is attached.

We are in need of many volunteers for City Meet!
Bullpen: We use a bullpen for the 10-and-under and finals sessions. Line swimmers up by heat and lane in chairs under a big tent, then walk each heat to the blocks—no experience needed. We will have experienced parents to show you how to do it.
Runner: Regularly walk around the pool, collecting DQ slips from officials and timer sheets from the timers. Deliver the DQ slips and timer sheets to the timing desk. Take the results to the clerk, of course, and post them on the results board.
Awards: Place labels on the awards and put awards in each team's box.
Hospitality: Make sure drinks are kept cold and regularly deliver hydration to officials, coaches, and meet volunteers. Keep the hospitality room clean and snacks/meals at the ready.
Clerk of Course: Post results at the clerk of course desk. If swimmers are scratching for finals, they will come to the clerk's desk. They have 30 minutes after the results are posted. After 30 minutes from posting results, have a runner take the scratches to the timing desk to begin compiling the finals heat sheet.
Hospitality Donations: Please consider donating food or drink items for our hospitality room at City Meet. The list of needs is on the job signup page for the meet. Please bring donations to the FTO pool on Thursday night or when you arrive for your first session.
Fees: City Meet charges fees. We will bill for those on Wednesday, July 8th.
Per Swimmer Surcharge - $15
Individual Event Fee - $7 per individual event
Relay Event Fee - $3 per swimmer, per relay
City Meet is a Prelim/Final Meet. Everyone swims in preliminaries. The top 8 finishers from the preliminaries will qualify for the Championship Finals. The 9-16 place finishers from the preliminaries will qualify for the Consolation Finals. The next 2 places, listed as Alternates, will move into the Consolation heat should any scratches occur. A swimmer who swims in the Consolation Finals can place no higher than 9th. The Championship (A final) heat will swim first, followed by the consolation (B final) heat. The following events are TIMED FINAL EVENTS. Swimmers will only swim those events in preliminaries.
8 and Under 100 Individual Medley
11-12, 13-14, and 15-18 100 Freestyle
6 and under 25 Freestyle and 25 Backstroke
Relays: The top 8 relay finishers from the preliminaries will compete in the Championship Finals. Only 2 relays per team may qualify for finals in any age group/gender. Swimmers in a preliminary relay that is disqualified are not permitted to swim that relay event during the Finals session. Once a relay is disqualified, all swimmers participating in the relay are disqualified from the event.
Nehemiah Project R3
The Chattanooga Area Swim League is partnering with Kelley Andrews to support the community through the Nehemiah Project R3 (https://nehemiahr3.org/about-us/).
They are asking every team to bring 24-packs of Crayola crayons to the Fort Oglethorpe Pool during the City Meet. Please note that the organization specifically requests only the Crayola 24-pack. These are currently on sale at most stores for approximately $0.50 each.
They will have a collection station to track donations by team. As an incentive, Murfreesboro Pure Milk will provide ice cream for the team that donates the most boxes. If we donate the most, we will use the ice cream at our end-of-season banquet.
